Well, crap

Went to my first two classes of the semester (third class doesn't start until June) and I have to say, it's not going to be the easiest semester. Yes, of course, the subject matter is difficult -- Anatomy & Physiology and Chemistry -- but I'm referring to more "superficial" aspects of the courses.

In A&P, we are stuck in tiny, cramped desks, the kind with the attached chair, and the desk part kind of wraps around the side (see picture above). They aren't even adult sized desks, they look (and feel) like middle school desks. It's ridiculous. You would think the classroom would have at least a couple of other desks for larger people - or what about disabled people? Or very tall people? But no, all the desks in the room are horrible. Yuck.

In Chemistry, our teacher seems nice but is very difficult to understand. He's Kenyan, and I (wrongly) assumed that since E is African and I am used to his accent, I could easily understand my professor. WRONG. Add in that he is very scattered and easily distracted. He's all over the place, not making much sense, and it's hard to pay attention to him. I think of the two courses, this will be the worst since I have to deal with it for 4 months rather than 3 months for A&P.

I guess a small desk will be good incentive to lose some weight quickly, right? I sure won't be eating a big meal before class.
