My friend's brother "Steve" is living a messed up life right now. He's been into drugs, having mental problems, lying, etc.
"Steve" had a brokedown van he was trying to sell, so instead of just calling a junkyard, his friend suggests tying it to his car. They did, and they drove to a really bad part of town, ended up selling the van for $100. He gets in the friend's car and the friend says, "I need gas money." "Steve" explains that he's got rent and other bills due and he only got $100 so he can't give him gas money. So the friend kicks him out of the car and leaves him in this bad area.
"Steve" goes up to the door of the people who bought the van, explains what happened, and asks to use their phone. They tell him, no you can't use our phone, but we know someone who will take you home. So "Steve" waits and a few minutes later a car with 4 guys in it pulls up. He gets in, these guys take him to an even worse part of town, rob him, beat him up, and dump him out of the car.
When they drive away, "Steve" walks up to a house, a lady answers the door and he asks to use her phone. She says, "Oh honey it's not safe for a white boy to be out there, come in and wait and when my husband gets home he'll take you home." So "Steve" goes in and waits. The husband comes home, gets pissed that his wife let a stranger in the house and starts beating the woman! Apparently neighbors heard the noise and called the cops, the cops come and since "Steve" has a joint in his pocket, he goes to jail.
I guess he gets bailed out, because he's riding around his neighborhood on his bike when a friend invites him in for a party. "Steve" goes in, gets really drunk and starts hitting on (flirting) with the friend's wife. They get in a fight, the cops are called, and he goes to jail for public intoxication and fighting, and he's still sitting in jail now.
Could anything else go wrong?
You'd think this would be more than a wake-up call, but it won't be.
