Classes started Jan 5. This semester I'm taking Intermediate Algebra, Human Growth & Development, General Psychology, and Anatomy & Physiology.
Intermediate Algebra - same teacher as last semester. I love him. He's my little Lebanese love-dumpling, LOL. Ok, I have a bit of a crush on my teacher. It's unrequited, so it's safe. First class was Monday, was very boring since it was mainly a review.
Human Growth & Development - online class, 8 weeks accelerated version. So far, it looks like it will be easy (knocking on wood!) The teacher says it's self-paced, so we could do all the assignments in 1 weekend if we really wanted to. I don't think I'll be able to do that, but it's nice to know I can go as fast as I want. I will try to get done early.
General Psych - haven't started yet, will pick up in 8 weeks when HG&D ends. Psych is also online.
Anatomy & Physiology (from now on called A&P) - Oh. My. God. What did I get myself into? Don't get me wrong, it seems incredibly interesting, just that there's so much to remember. Like, you can't say your spleen is in the right upper area. No, it's the left lumbar region, or something like that. Left is right, right is left, everything has a long technical (usually Latin) name. I usually skate by in my classes on whatever I hear in the lectures. I can't do that here. I will have a LOT of studying to do. And a lot of paper. He posted a Chapter 1 Objectives packet online that I printed out - almost 30 pages! And there's 16 Chapters! My teacher looks like a cross between Santa Claus and Jerry Garcia (Grateful Dead). Seems very interesting, like I said. Oh, and the exit exam? He says no one has ever gotten over an 80% on the exam. Well, I am determined to do better than 80%. So hopefully that will be a good motivator.
Good luck to all the other students out there!
